Abermule, Powys

Our customer in Mid-Wales was keen to provide heat and generate his own electricity to his farm house, workshop and two additional properties.

The ESP Energy team were able to advise him on the best options available.

It was decided that a biomass boiler system and Solar PV system would be installed.

The Solar system consisted of a 4kW system using poly crystalline Canadian Solar panels, these were mounted on to a South facing roof to maximise their potential.

The chosen biomass boiler was an ETA Hack 130kW .

The team designed a bespoke, purpose built outbuilding to allow the storage and delivery of fuel. The ETA heats the properties via an underground pre-insulated pipe with a heat exchanger at each end, this has completely replaced the existing two oil boilers. It also provides heat to a number of blowair hot water heaters to dry the log supply.

A successful biomass and solar PV installation for the ESP team and another customer saving on his fuel costs as well as claiming on the renewable heat incentive (RHI) and the Feed-in Tariff (FIT)
