A major UK-based cardboard manufacturer partnered with ESP Energy to continue its transition toward low-carbon operations. Building on a successful biomass boiler installation completed five years earlier, the client commissioned ESP to design and deliver a comprehensive solar PV system paired with a KeeLine rooftop safety system, enhancing both sustainability and operational compliance. The solar array includes 2,484 modules, generating over 832,000 kWh of clean electricity per year, and was integrated with SolarEdge optimisers and inverters for maximum efficiency. To support rooftop access for ongoing maintenance, ESP also installed a KeeLine horizontal fall protection system, ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation.
Benefits for the client 1MW Biomass Boiler System previously installed to reduce heating costs and fossil fuel use 832,080 kWh/year solar output, cutting grid demand and electricity costs 193.88 tonnes of CO₂ offset per year Electricity bills reduced by up to 89.94% in peak months KeeLine® system enables safe and compliant rooftop access Full solution delivered by ESP Energy’s in-house engineering team Financial savings & ESG impact Fully decarbonised heat and partial power Future-proofed infrastructure for scalable growth
