ESP Energy worked with a progressive poultry farm in Shropshire to design and install a high-performance 639kWp solar PV system, tailored to the demanding energy profile of broiler operations. With rising utility costs and increasing environmental targets, the goal was to offset on-site usage, prepare for future battery integration, and generate additional income through solar exports.

The system includes 1,173 high-efficiency modules, 8 inverters, and 611 SolarEdge optimisers, producing over 556,000 kWh annually, enough to power the site’s ventilation, lighting, and automated feeding systems, while exporting excess generation. Real-time system monitoring has been implemented in preparation for a future battery installation, ensuring full site visibility and intelligent load control.

Due to the strong performance, the customer has since commissioned ESP Energy to install additional renewable systems across other parts of the farm.
